1. Melbourne:

3. Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges

The Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges region lies just an hour’s drive east of Melbourne, where tall trees and majestic mountain ranges meet the world famous vineyards and wineries of the Yarra Valley. 4. The Mornington Peninsula

The Mornington Peninsula is on the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay. Some of Australia’s best sandy beaches can be found here and every kind of water activity is waiting for you. Head inland and explore the abundance of vineyards and orchards tucked away among the rolling hills of Red Hill and Main Ridge where you can try your hand at strawberry picking or sample some fresh farm gate produce. If art is your passion then take time to visit some of the excellent galleries and craft markets at towns such as Red Hill and Mornington.


5. Phillip Island

Drive 90 minutes from Melbourne and you’ll find yourself standing nose to nose with koalas, sharing a beach with hungry pelicans, watching a colony of fur seals splashing in the sun, and of course, walking with our famous penguins. And the best part is, at Phillip Island, nature’s happy to get close to you.


6. Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road offers stunning ocean views, beachside activities, laidback coastal towns and maritime villages. You will find limitless opportunities to leave your everyday life behind. Discover rich maritime past with museums recounting the stories of ships that have foundered off the rugged shipwreck coast. This is also the home of the Twelve Apostles, one of the most spectacular natural attractions Victoria has to offer.


7. Goldfields

The Goldfields is Australia’s premier gold heritage region, offering spectacular historic towns, grand streetscapes, architecture, gardens and art galleries. Learn about gold rush history at one of the region’s historic attractions, Sovereign Hill, The Eureka Centre and the Central Deborah Gold Mine all offer a fascinating insight into life above and below the ground during the 1850s and 1860s. Set on a former gold mining site, Sovereign Hill is an outdoor museum recreating the gold rush era in fascinating detail. Experience some hands on fun panning for gold!


8. Grampians

Watch in awe as the native bush comes alive with colour and grandeur. Around every corner you will uncover stunning natural attractions and rich heritage. The Great Grape Road touring route is a scenic circuit through the Pyrenees, Grampians and Ballarat. These wine regions produce some of Australia’s finest cool-climate wines, most notably shiraz, which has earned this region international recognition. Winemakers are keen to share their experiences and their produce as you compare and contrast the highly individual flavours of the three regions.


9. Victoria’s High Country

The High Country in north-east Victoria is a special place with scenic alpine landscapes, a host of outdoor activities, gourmet food and wine and a fascinating heritage of bushrangers, horsemen and gold. 10. Gippsland

11. The Murray

The mighty Murray River forms the border between New South Wales and Victoria, and is one of the longest navigable rivers in the world, stretching 2,700 kilometres from the mountains of the Great Dividing Range in north-eastern Victoria to journey’s end near Adelaide in South Australia.
